Te Aute College (Māori: Te Kura o Te Aute) is a school in the Hawke's Bay region of New Zealand. It opened in 1854 with twelve pupils under Samuel Williams, an Anglican missionary, and nephew and son-in-law of Bishop William Williams. It has a strong Māori character.
In 1854 the Ahuriri Native Industrial School (later to be renamed Te Aute College) opened as a government school with 12 pupils, under the leadership of Samuel Williams. In 1857 the Te Aute Educational Trust was established with 4014 acres of Crown land and the gift of 4273 acres from Ngāi Te Whatuiāpiti.

The History of Te Aute College appears to be an unexplored, great, wide field, for developments in this, college effected the whole Maori race. Hence it was with trepidation that this piece of research was started.
Te Aute College enrols boarders and day students from Year 9 to 13 and is a specialised school committed to producing the finest young men in Aotearoa.
