Pär-Ola Jonas Jonasson (born Per Ola Jonasson; 6 July 1961) is a Swedish journalist and writer, best known as the author of the best-seller The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared.
Jonas Jonasson became world-famous overnight thanks to his debut novel The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared (2009). So far, that novel has sold eleven million copies throughout 133 countries and on every continent but Antarctica.
After a long career as a journalist, media consultant and television producer, Jonas Jonasson decided to start a new life. He wrote a manuscript, he sold all his possessions in Sweden and moved to a small town by Lake Lugano in Switzerland, only a few meters from the Italian border.
