George Hamilton Gordon, fourth Earl of Aberdeen, who served as Prime Minister from 19 December 1852 to 30 January 1855. was born on 28 January 1784 in Edinburgh. He was the eldest son and first of seven children born to George Gordon, Lord Haddo and his wife Charlotte Baird.
