Camden is centrally located in southwest Ohio, in Preble County and near the county seat, Eaton, to the north, the city of Dayton to the east, the city of Hamilton to the south, and the city of Oxford to the west.
Camden's Rich and Wonderful History. In 1803, the Hendricks family were the first settlers to arrive to this southwest Ohio area formerly occupied by Native Americans. Soon, the availability of land and forests and the abundance of water via Seven Mile and area creeks attracted more settlers.
