Acarigua (Spanish pronunciation: [akaˈɾiɣwa]), founded as San Miguel de Acarigua, is a city in northwestern Venezuela, in the northern part of the state of Portuguesa. Formerly the state capital, it is a major commercial center for the northern Llanos region of South America .

Acarigua es una ciudad que se encuentra en el centro occidente de Venezuela, capital del municipio Páez en el estado Portuguesa. La ciudad posee más de 400 000 habitantes. Cuenta con un bajo PIB per cápita [ 3 ] conforma una sola unidad urbana junto con la ciudad de Araure y es la urbe más poblada de la región de los llanos venezolanos.
