Charles is an HTTP proxy / HTTP monitor / Reverse Proxy that enables a developer to view all of the HTTP and SSL / HTTPS traffic between their machine and the Internet. This includes requests, responses and the HTTP headers (which contain the cookies and caching information).
The latest beta release of Charles 5 supports Apple Silicon, Windows ARM64 and Linux ARM64. If you are using any of these platforms, please download the latest beta version instead.
First Download Charles. If you use Firefox download the Firefox add-on as well. Windows. Run the setup application to install Charles in your Programs menu. Mac OS X. Unzip the download file by double-clicking it, and then copy the Charles application into your Applications folder. Linux
Start it up, it will attempt to automatically configure your browser so you’re up and running immediately. Start browsing the web and watch the results appear in Charles; click on them and take a look at what is recorded. To continue reading please see the list of sections to the left.

Charles is a web proxy (HTTP Proxy / HTTP Monitor) that runs on your own computer. Your web browser (or any other Internet application) is then configured to access the Internet through Charles, and Charles is then able to record and display for you all of the data that is sent and received.
