William Herschel (Hanôver, 15 de novembro de 1738 — Slough, 25 de agosto de 1822) foi um astrônomo e compositor alemão naturalizado inglês. Aos 19 anos mudou-se para a Inglaterra onde passou a ensinar música, antes de se tornar um organista.
Frederick William Herschel KH, FRS (/ ˈ h ɜːr ʃ əl /; German: Friedrich Wilhelm Herschel; 15 November 1738 – 25 August 1822) was a German-British astronomer and composer. He frequently collaborated with his younger sister and fellow astronomer Caroline Herschel.
