Chris was a regular cast member on the ABC sitcom Suburgatory where he played Fred Shay (opposite Ana Gasteyer), and on the Comedy Central series Big Lake (with Horatio Sanz). He also had a recurring role on Tina Fey 's sitcom 30 Rock as Dr. Spaceman.
Parnell has also appeared as a member of Saturday Night Live (1975)'s resident boy band "Seven Degrees Celsius," but his biggest claim to fame on the show was when he performed an unforgettable hardcore gansta rap fantasizing about a dream date with Britney Spears on Weekend Update.
First breaking through as a performer with the Los Angeles comedy troupe The Groundlings, Parnell found wider success during his tenure as a cast member on the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live from 1998 to 2006. After leaving SNL, he played the role of Dr. Leo Spaceman on the NBC sitcom 30 Rock (2006–2013).
