Kirby served as an editor, writer and artist for National-DC comics, where his first assignment was the revamping of the Jimmy Olsen book. This he proceeded to do by introducing the Galaxy Broadcasting System, new owners of The Daily Planet, and its insidious president, Morgan Edge.
