The new Walt Disney Animation Studios wordmark logo was first seen Disney's 2020 Investor Day Presentation on December 10, 2020. However, the previous logo is still primarily used as an on-screen logo today. Currently it is only used for "Walt Disney Animation Studios Collection" on Disney+.
In 2012, Disney redesigned the logo's background to adapt to movies made in 2:35:1.

The logo was created by Walt Disney Productions in traditional animation and featured a white silhouette of Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty Castle against a blue background, with the studio's name in Walt Disney text and underscored by "When You Wish Upon a Star", in arrangement composed by John Debney.
Many recent prints of some of the company's core titles (both TV and home media) have plastered this with the 2006 logo and/or the Walt Disney Animation Studios logo since the late 2000s.
It was also used in Pixar films from WALL-E in 2008 to Lightyear in 2022, and Walt Disney Animation Studios films from Meet the Robinsons in 2007 to Encanto in 2021. This logo begins with a glowing star shining in the night sky, while the shiniest star in the right of the sky represents The Second Star to the Right from Peter Pan .
