Baseado no personagem Batman da DC Comics, com Val Kilmer substituindo Michael Keaton no papel principal. O enredo é focado em Batman tentando impedir Duas-Caras ( Tommy Lee Jones) e o Charada ( Jim Carrey ), em seu esquema de vilão para drenar as informações de todos os cérebros em Gotham City.
In February 1996, Kilmer decided not to return for another Batman feature film, feeling that Batman was being marginalized in favor of the villains and because of scheduling problems with The Saint. George Clooney replaced Kilmer as Batman in 1997's Batman & Robin .
