The Two Towers: Being the Second Part of The Lord of the Rings is a novel written by J.R.R. Tolkien. It is preceded by The Fellowship of the Ring and followed by The Return of the King. Tolkien came up with the title under deadline pressure and later expressed dissatisfaction with it.
