Shining Force is a 1992 turn-based tactical role-playing game for the Sega Genesis console. It is the second entry of the Shining series of video games, following Shining in the Darkness. While primarily a traditional fantasy-themed game, it contains some science fiction elements.

Shining Force is a name prominently used to describe a group of warriors representing the forces of light in the battle against darkness. At least eight incarnations of the group are known, and a tactics subseries of the Shining franchise is named after this group.
Shining Force is a classic tactical RPG released by Sega for the Genesis/Mega Drive console in the mid 90s and developed by Sonic Co, who went on to become Camelot Software Planning. It is part of a long line of ‘Shining series’ games, many of which have sadly never seen a release in the West.
