How To Get To John Ford Point. John Ford’s Point is one of the viewpoints along Valley Drive, the dirt road (which is also a bit bumpy) that allows you to drive through the valley alongside its impressive monoliths. There are basically 2 ways to reach the lookout point.
In Monument valley, we saw John Ford's Point, which is located on a promontory at the top of a very high cliff. From John Ford's Point, the panoramic viewpoint is wonderful on the dazzling sandtone rocks of West Mitten Butte, East Mitten Butte and Merrick Butte!!!

You can walk onto the plateau itself and take in the views of the surrounding buttes, or you can take in the wider view of the plateau itself from a distance, as it’s appeared in many films. A popular thing to do here is to pay a local man to let you pose for photos on his horse.
20 de abr. de 2024 · Another view of John Ford’s point. If you only have a few hours to spare, your time is best spent driving the Valley Drive. Tours to places like Mystery Valley and Teardrop Arch are fantastic, but I think you would be missing out on something if you skipped John Ford’s Point or the Mittens.
John Ford's Point if one of the most iconic and scenic spots in the Navajo Tribal Park in Monument Valley. It is one of the first places one reaches after heading out on the drive from the visitor centre, either by one's own car (during the permitted hours), or by tour.
