Gordonstoun’s tradition includes education through experience in adventurous activities and ocean sailing – often the highlight for many students. A special feature of the three week courses will be the six day Adventure Programme.
The Gordonstoun International Summer School (GISS) has been running at Gordonstoun for over forty years, and shares the same unique educational ethos as Gordonstoun. Students are encouraged to have as many experiences both inside and outside the classroom as possible.

Gordonstoun International Summer School (GISS) has been running for over forty years, with students aged from 8 to 16 spending three-and-a-half weeks enjoying amazing experiences which make the most of the Scottish landscape.
The Gordonstoun International Summer School started in 1976, and it has catered to over 7,000 pupils since then. It opens for a four-week period every summer with the aim of giving a taste of the Gordonstoun ethos.
The School’s Healthcare Centre is fully staffed by our qualified nursing team throughout the GISS courses. A doctor will be available throughout the whole of the Summer School. Excellent medical facilities exist in the school and a few miles away at Elgin.
