In Greek mythology, Eros (UK: / ˈ ɪər ɒ s, ˈ ɛr ɒ s /, US: / ˈ ɛr ɒ s, ˈ ɛr oʊ s /; Ancient Greek: Ἔρως, lit. 'Love, Desire') is the Greek god of love and sex. His Roman counterpart is Cupid ('desire').
