Assinatura. Thomas Stearns Eliot OM ( St. Louis, 26 de setembro de 1888 – Londres, 4 de janeiro de 1965) foi um poeta, dramaturgo e crítico de língua inglesa, considerado um dos representantes mais importantes do modernismo literário. [ 1] Recebeu o Prêmio Nobel de Literatura de 1948.
T.S. Eliot was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature on seven occasions, the first time in 1945. In 1948, three nominations for Eliot were submitted which eventually led to him being awarded the prize.
Eliot’s awards and honors include the British Order of Merit and the Nobel Prize for Literature. His play The Cocktail Party won the 1950 Tony Award for Best Play. In 1964, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
