Plot Summary. Camillo and Archidamus are discussing the long-standing friendship between Leontes and Polixenes, their respective kings. Polixenes has been staying at Leontes’ court, and is persuaded by Leontes’ wife Hermione (who acts at Leontes’ suggestion) to stay with him longer.
