Sir Owen Tudor (Welsh: Owain ap Maredudd ap Tudur, c. 1400 – 2 February 1461) was a Welsh courtier and the second husband of Queen Catherine of Valois (1401–1437), widow of King Henry V of England. He was the grandfather of Henry VII, founder of the Tudor dynasty.
The House of Tudor (/ ˈ tj uː d ər /) was an English and Welsh dynasty that held the throne of England from 1485 to 1603. They descended from the Tudors of Penmynydd, a Welsh noble family, and Catherine of Valois.
3 de abr. de 2020 · Owen Tudor and Catherine of Valois had five children - three sons and two daughters - and so the Tudor Dynasty was born. One of the couple's sons was Jasper Tudor, Earl of Pembroke (l. 1431-1495 CE) who would later effectively rule Wales for the English monarchy.

He was the son of Maredudd ap Tudur ap Goronwy and Margaret, daughter of Dafydd Fychan. He is believed to be descended from a prominent Welsh family, and it is thought that Owen’s family took part in the Glyndwr Rising, one of the last major attempts for Welsh independence.
