This score incorporates two versions of the vocal score: pages i–xii use Holst’s 2 piano version as accompaniment (and is complete from the start of the movement); pages 1–6 provide a reductio partituræ of the orchestral version, starting from bar 45 (figure IV).
The Planets, Op. 32, is a seven-movement orchestral suite by the English composer Gustav Holst, written between 1914 and 1917. In the last movement the orchestra is joined by a wordless female chorus.
