Grand Duke Henri is a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), a member of The Mentor Foundation (established by the World Health Organization) and a director of the Charles Darwin Trust for the Galápagos Islands. The grand duke lives with his family at Berg Castle in Luxembourg.

The Grand Duke of Luxembourg (Luxembourgish: Groussherzog vu Lëtzebuerg, French: Grand-duc de Luxembourg, German: Großherzog von Luxemburg) is the head of state of Luxembourg. Luxembourg has been a grand duchy since 15 March 1815, when it was created from territory of the former Duchy of Luxembourg.
7 de out. de 2000 · The crown of the Grand Duchy is hereditary in the Nassau family in accordance with the family pact of 30 June 1783. Before 2011, the family pact stipulated that the crown is handed down in a direct line by order of male primogeniture, to the exclusion of female descendants.
