These are files containing the installer and other software for the Debian GNU/Linux operating system. The files in this directory are specifically for the amd64 architecture. How do I use these files? The files here are complete ISO images, ready to use.
ISO images for Debian testing. Verifying authenticity of Debian images. Download an installation image. A small installation image : can be downloaded quickly and should be recorded onto a removable disk. To use this, you will need a machine with an Internet connection. 64-bit PC netinst iso. 32-bit PC netinst iso.
Downloading Debian. This is Debian 12, codenamed bookworm, netinst, for 64-bit PC (amd64) debian-12.5.0-amd64-netinst.iso. Download checksum: SHA512SUMS Signature. Debian installer ISOs are hybrid images, which means they can be written directly to CD/DVD/BD media OR to USB sticks.

The files here are complete ISO images, ready to use. Once you have downloaded all the ISO images you want, you willtypically need to write them to media, either writeable DVD or a USBstick.
This is an officialDebian image build and so only includes Free Software. For convenience for some users, there is an alternative unofficial image build which includes non-free firmware for extra support for some awkward hardware. Look under /images/unofficial/non-free/images-including-firmware/if you need that image instead.
Live images tend to be resource hungry by nature - they need to use memory to extract and store the compressed system as well asthe memory that the running software would normally need. The minimum recommended RAM for using a desktop environment on a live image is 2 GiB. If you have a system with less memory, your system will not work well here.

To install Debian on a machine without an Internet connection, it's possible to use CD images (700 MB each) or DVD images (4.7 GB each). Download the first CD or DVD image file, write it using a CD/DVD recorder (or a USB stick on i386 and amd64 ports), and then reboot from that.
