Nigel Olsson (born 10 February 1949) is an English rock drummer best known for his long-time affiliation with Elton John. A dynamic drummer and backing vocalist, Olsson helped establish the Elton John sound as a member of the Elton John Band alongside bassist Dee Murray .

11 de abr. de 2011 · The drummer and guitarist go way back, comprising half of the famed, original Elton John four-piece (which also included the late bassist Dee Murray). Olsson admitted to a fair amount of amazement that he's played with Sir Elton for over 40 years.
It was around this time that Nigel was also drumming on some of Elton’s songwriting demos at the Dick James Studios in London. Although not yet officially part of the band, he made his first appearance on an Elton record playing drums on Lady What’s Tomorrow, from the 1969 album Empty Sky.
