Boris Nicoláievitch Iéltsin, em russo: Бори́с Никола́евич Е́льцин ⓘ ( Sverdlovsk, 1 de fevereiro de 1931 – Moscou, 23 de abril de 2007) foi o primeiro presidente da Rússia após a dissolução da União Soviética. Iéltsin foi também o primeiro líder de uma Rússia independente desde o czar Nicolau II.
The Presidential elections were held in Russia on 16 June 1996, with a second round on 3 July. The result was a victory for the incumbent President Boris Yeltsin, who ran as an independent candidate. Yeltsin defeated the Communist challenger Gennady Zyuganov in the run-off, receiving 54.4% of the vote.
