  2. If you hadn’t already passed a step called awaiting AE recommendation, the handling editor recommending desk rejection would indeed be my best guess. Apart from that it could be something trivial like you botching a figure or the list of citations.

  3. 28 de fev. de 2021 · Last week, the status changed to Awaiting AE Recommendation. However, today, it changed back to Awaiting Referee Scores. As per my understanding, the status should be Awaiting EIC Decision.

  4. 28 de mar. de 2015 · Using something named Google; "Awaiting AE recommendation -> The paper received the sufficient number of reviews (usually 2) and, on their basis, AE makes recommendation to EIC." That is a very fast review process.

  6. 25 de mar. de 2016 · Answer: It is difficult to estimate how much longer you need to wait. Once the completed reviews come in, the Associate Editor (AE) evaluates them and gives his recommendation to the EiC. The EiC gives the final verdict based on the AE's recommendation.
