  1. There can be additional companies of Army Reserve or 'professionally qualified officers' in the Academy who take part in shorter (1–2 months) commissioning courses. Each company is commanded by a major and named after a famous battle or campaign in which the British Army fought.

  2. The course (Commissioning Course Short) takes eight weeks to complete and is based directly on the Regular Commissioning Course. It is split equally into four modules. It is an intense, challenging course designed to teach the fundamentals of soldiering and develop Officer Cadets as leaders.

  4. Renowned world-wide as an international centre of excellence for leadership training, the Academy has welcomed cadets from across the globe. Of the 200 cadets commissioning 35 had been sent from 26 different countries including: Armenia, Ethiopia, Morocco, Montenegro, Iraq and Uruguay.

  5. The commissioning course lasts for 44 weeks. British Applications: The Army Officer Selection Board (AOSB) is the interview process through which you are selected to train at Sandhurst.
