National Collegiate. As of the upcoming 2023–24 season, 44 teams compete in the National Collegiate division (commonly referred to as Division I). All of them play in one of five conferences: College Hockey America (CHA) ECAC Hockey; Hockey East; New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA)
The National Collegiate Hockey Conference tournament is the conference tournament for the NCHC. The winner of the tournament received an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament which has occurred every year the NCHC has been in existence, with the exception of 2011.
The 2021–22 NCHC season is the 9th season of play for National Collegiate Hockey Conference and will take place during the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season. The regular season is set to begin on October 2, 2021, and conclude on March 5, 2022. [1]
