Pioche is an unincorporated town in Lincoln County, Nevada, United States, approximately 180 miles (290 km) northeast of Las Vegas. U.S. Route 93 is the main route to Pioche and bypasses the town center just to the east, with Nevada State Route 321 and Nevada State Route 322 providing direct access.

Pioche ( pronounced – pee-oach) is located 180 miles northeast of Las Vegas. Hanging on the side of a mountain in Nevada’s high desert, our town enjoys old-west charm, mild summertime temperatures, fine trout fishing, hunting, and some of Nevada’s most scenic state parks.
In 1868, San Francisco financier Francois L.A. Pioche purchased claims and constructed a smelter in the area, forming the Meadow Valley Mining Company. The mining camp was called “Pioche’s City” and later became known as Pioche. The town rapidly became the largest mining town in southeastern Nevada in the early 1870’s.
