Joe Strummer (nascido John Graham Mellor) (Ankara, 21 de agosto de 1952 — Somerset, 22 de dezembro de 2002) foi um músico britânico, mais conhecido por seu trabalho como vocalista e guitarrista da banda The Clash. He was the co-founder, lyricist, rhythm guitarist, and lead vocalist of punk rock band the Clash, formed in 1976. The Clash's second studio album, Give 'Em Enough Rope (1978), reached No. 2 on the UK charts.

History. Origins: 1974–1976. Before the Clash's founding, the band's future members were active in different parts of the London music scene. Joe Strummer, whose real name was John Graham Mellor, sang and played rhythm guitar in the pub rock band The 101ers, which he had formed in 1974 with Alvaro Pena-Rojas. [3] .
