Hartwig Fischer (born 14 December 1962) is a German art historian and museum director. From April 2016 until his resignation in August 2023 in connection to an art theft scandal, he was the director of the British Museum, the first non-British head of the museum since 1866.

Hartwig Fischer (né le 14 décembre 1962) est un historien de l'art et directeur de musée allemand. De avril 2016 à août 2023, il est directeur du British Museum, premier directeur non britannique du musée depuis 1866. De 2012 à 2016, il est directeur des collections d'art de l'État de Dresde (Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden).
