Nelson Algren. Escritor norte-americano, Nelson Ahlgren Abraham, com o pseudónimo Nelson Algren, nasceu a 28 de março de 1909, em Detroit. Oriundo de uma família pobre, filho de um mecânico de automóveis, era neto de um emigrante sueco que, tendo-se convertido ao Judaísmo, havia mudado o nome para Isaac Ben Abraham.
