William Jack Baumol (February 26, 1922 – May 4, 2017) was an American economist. He was a professor of economics at New York University, Academic Director of the Berkley Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and Professor Emeritus at Princeton University.

William Jack Baumol, who was one of the greatest living economists, passed away on 4 May 2017 at the age of 95 in New York. He was born on 26 February 1922 in South Bronx in New York City.
