Leopold Hermann Ludwig von Boyen (20 June 1771 – 15 February 1848) was a Prussian army officer who helped to reform the Prussian Army in the early 19th century. He also served as minister of war of Prussia in the period 1810–1813 and again from 1 March 1841 – 6 October 1847.

Ludwig Leopold Gottlieb Hermann von Boyen (* 23. Juni 1771 in Kreuzburg ; † 15. Februar 1848 in Berlin ) war ein preußischer Generalfeldmarschall und 1814/19 sowie 1841/47 Kriegsminister .
Calm and effective general staff officer, Hermann von Boyen served as a Prussian field marshal and Minister of War. Orphaned at an early age, he joined the army and saw action during the 1794 revolt in Poland.

Hermann von Boyen (boi´ən), 1771–1848, Prussian field marshal. After the Prussian defeat by Emperor Napoleon I and the disastrous treaties of Tilsit in 1807 (see Sovetsk), he assisted Scharnhorst in the reorganization of the Prussian army.
