  1. Henry Holiday (17 June 1839 – 15 April 1927) was an English Victorian painter of historical genre and landscapes, also a stained-glass designer, illustrator, and sculptor. He was influenced by the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, many of whom he knew.

In 1885 he visited Greece via Naples and then returned via Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Vienna, Venice, Basle and Paris. Starting in 1887 he became actively involved in support for Home Rule in Ireland.
