Philippa Boyens is a New Zealand screenwriter and producer who co-wrote The Lord of the Rings, King Kong, The Hobbit and other films with Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh. She won an Academy Award for The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King and was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2004.
