Timothy Patrick Bowes-Lyon, 16th and 3rd Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne (18 March 1918 – 13 September 1972), was a British nobleman and peer. He was the second son of The 15th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne and the nephew of Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, wife of King George VI.

The two children, Nancy and Timothy Bowes Lyon were twins. Their father Patrick, Lord Glamis, was the eldest brother of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. He succeeded as 15th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne in 1944.
Thomas Lyon-Bowes, 12th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne (1822–1865) – grandson of the 11th Earl. Claude Bowes-Lyon, 13th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne (1824–1904) – brother of the 12th Earl, created Baron Bowes in the Peerage of the United Kingdom in 1887.
The Bowes-Lyon family also visited The Children’s Studio. The children, Nancy (1918–59) and Timothy (1918–72), were twins and photographed by Marcus Adams in 1924. Their father Patrick, Lord Glamis, was the eldest brother of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.

Timothy Patrick Bowes-Lyon, 16th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne (18 March 1918 – 13 September 1972) married Mary Bridget Brennan (1923 – 8 September 1967) on 18 June 1958. They had one daughter who died in infancy.
