Sir John Macleod Ball (FRSE, FRS) (Farnham, 19 de maio de 1948) é um matemático britânico. John Macleod Ball é professor de filosofia natural na Universidade de Oxford. Foi presidente da União Internacional de Matemática de 2003 a 2006, e membro do The Queen's College, Oxford.
Sir John Macleod Ball FRS FRSE (born 19 May 1948) is a British mathematician and former Sedleian Professor of Natural Philosophy at the University of Oxford. He was the president of the International Mathematical Union from 2003 to 2006 and a Fellow of Queen's College, Oxford.
John Ball's main research areas lie in the calculus of variations, nonlinear partial differential equations, infinite-dimensional dynamical systems and their applications to nonlinear mechanics.
