Carl Diem (24 June 1882 – 17 December 1962) was a German sports administrator, and as Secretary General of the Organizing Committee of the Berlin Olympic Games, the chief organizer of the 1936 Olympic Summer Games .
Carl Diem was a German sports administrator, historian and co-founder of the International Olympic Academy. He was involved in several Olympic Games, including the 1936 Berlin Games, where he introduced the Olympic Torch Relay.
