References. Ralph Percy. Sir Ralph Percy (11 August 1425 – 25 April 1464) was an English nobleman of the House of Percy, a knight, a Governor of Bamburgh Castle and a supporter of the Lancastrian faction in the Wars of the Roses.
Ralph Percy and his wife Jane (née Richard), whom he married in 1979, are most accomplished in this regard. They serve as patrons, presidents or chairpersons of a wide range of societies and institutions, and their name is often first to appear on donor lists for good causes.
Ralph inherited the dukedom of Northumberland after the death of his elder brother in 1995. As well as managing the more traditional estate businesses of agriculture, forestry and minerals, the Duke has overseen expansion of the portfolio to include planning and development and commercial property.
