Samuel Hamilton Walker (February 24, 1817 – October 9, 1847) was an American army officer. He served as a Texas Ranger captain and officer of the Republic of Texas and the United States armies. Walker served in several armed conflicts, including the American Indian Wars and the Mexican–American War .

Samuel Hamilton Walker was born in Maryland in 1815 and came to Texas in 1842. As a scout for Captain Jesse Billingsley, he fought against Woll and his Mexican troops in San Antonio. Walker was among those captured during the attack on Mier and was marched in chains across the desert.
16 de fev. de 2019 · Walker served as captain of the inactive Company C of the United States Mounted Rifles until the outbreak of the Mexican War. When the First Regiment, Texas Mounted Riflemen, was organized in June 1846, Walker was elected lieutenant colonel.
