Officer of the Order of the British Empire. Sir Edward Denis Blundell, GCMG, GCVO, KBE, QSO (29 May 1907 – 24 September 1984) was a New Zealand lawyer, cricketer and diplomat who served as the 12th Governor-General of New Zealand from 1972 to 1977.

Sir Denis Blundell was Governor-General between 1972 and 1977. He was the first New Zealand resident to hold the job and was the first to dispense with plumed helmets, settling for lounge suits or simpler uniforms.
