Sir George Paget Thomson, FRS (/ ˈ t ɒ m s ən /; 3 May 1892 – 10 September 1975) was a British physicist and Nobel laureate in physics recognized for his discovery of the wave properties of the electron by electron diffraction.

[1] Recebeu em 1937 o Nobel de Física, pela verificação experimental da difração do elétron por cristais. Nasceu em Cambridge, filho do físico laureado com o Nobel Joseph John Thomson e Rose Elisabeth Paget.
Sir George T. é membro da Royal Society e recebeu a medalha real e a medalha Hughes dessa sociedade. Ele é doutor em ciências em Cambridge, Hon. D.Sc. (Lisboa), Exmo. LL.D. (Aberdeen), Exmo. Sc. D. (Dublin), Sheffield, Universidade de Gales e Reading.
