Ketil Bjørnstad (born 25 April 1952) is a pianist, composer and author. Initially trained as a classical pianist, Bjørnstad discovered jazz at an early age and has embraced the emergence of "European jazz".

Biografi. Musikk. Bjørnstad ble opprinnelig kjent som vidunderbarn i 1960-årene. Han fullførte bare syvårig grunnskole før han ble musiker på fulltid. [5] . Han ble utdannet som klassisk pianist og studerte med blant andre Amalie Christie og Robert Riefling, foruten studier i London og Paris.

There is something of the Renaissance Man about Ketil Bjornstad who is recognised as a unique figure in the arts in Norway. Trained as a concert pianist, he has recorded over thirty albums since 1973, including five volumes of solo piano and collaborations with both jazz and rock musicians.
