Mark Allen Mothersbaugh (/ ˈ m ʌ ð ər z b ɔː /; born May 18, 1950) is an American musician and composer. He came to prominence in the late 1970s as co-founder, lead singer and keyboardist of the new wave band Devo , whose " Whip It " was a top 20 single in the US in 1980, peaking at No. 14, and which has since maintained a cult following .
Mark Mothersbaugh is a multi-talented artist who has composed music for films, TV shows, video games and podcasts, and is also a member of the band Devo. He has been nominated for two Primetime Emmys and won 23 other awards, and has worked on projects such as Thor: Ragnarok, The Mitchells vs. the Machines, and The Royal Tenenbaums.
