John Alec Entwistle (Chiswick, 9 de outubro de 1944 – Paradise, 27 de junho de 2002) foi um músico inglês que foi baixista da banda de rock The Who. A carreira musical de Entwistle durou mais de quatro décadas.
John Alec Entwistle (9 October 1944 – 27 June 2002) was an English musician who was the bassist for the rock band the Who. Entwistle's music career spanned over four decades. Nicknamed "The Ox" and "Thunderfingers", he was the band's only member with formal musical training and also provided backing and occasional lead vocals.
27 de jun. de 2022 · John Entwistle spent the evening of June 27, 2002 with friends, among them Alyeen Rose, an exotic dancer he knew from previous visits to Vegas. He took Rose to his room at the Hard Rock Hotel, where he did a line of coke and they had sex. Some time during that night, he had a heart attack and died in his sleep.

A shame, then, that The Ox wasn’t around 11 years later when readers of Rolling Stone overwhelmingly voted him the greatest bass player of all time.
