David Wants to Fly is a 2010 German documentary film that follows its director, Berlin-based, film school graduate David Sieveking, as he interacts with his film hero David Lynch, and explores the Transcendental Meditation movement.
David Wants to Fly: Dirigido por David Sieveking. Com Judith Bourque, Donovan, Raja Emanuel, Raja Felix. David Sieveking walks on David Lynchs path into the world of transcendental meditation (TM).
David determines to take his hero’s word for it: he submits himself to the expensive TM training, receives his personal mantra and has a go at “yogic flying”. But incongruities soon begin to pile up.
This begins with unemployed film school grad Sieveking on a quest to meet his idol, the great, eccentric filmmaker David Lynch, at a Transcendental Meditation conference in Fairfield, Iowa, but then transforms into an exposé and denunciation of the entire “TM movement.”
