Ryo Saeba (aka the City Hunter), is a private detective in Tokyo. Together with sidekick Kaori Makimura, Ryo is hired by actress Emi Makaze to find her long lost brother, who turns out to be “The Professor”, a disillusioned ex-soldier who plans to destroy the Shinjuku district of Tokyo.

When a mysterious soldier called The Professor seeks vengeance on the government, he demands to be paid an exorbitant ransom --or else Tokyo gets blown to smithereens. Only City Hunter (Ryo Saeba) stands a chance of stopping him.
