Killer McCoy is a 1947 American sports drama film about a boxer starring Mickey Rooney. It is a remake of The Crowd Roars (1938). The picture was directed by Roy Rowland with a supporting cast featuring Brian Donlevy, Ann Blyth, James Dunn, Tom Tully, and Sam Levene.
In his first film post-Andy Hardy, Mickey Rooney is Killer McCoy, a talented young boxer under the thumb of a corrupt manager (Brian Donlevey) using him to get rich. McCoy starts dating the manager's daughter (Ann Blyth) just to add to the intrigue. It's a cliche premise but Rooney's acting carries it.
