Journey Home: The Animals of Farthing Wood is an American direct-to-video animated film released by BBC Video and 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, the movie is actually the first season of the show, edited into an 78 minute film
Edited from season 1 of The Animals of Farthing Wood (1993) with some changes and additions, the film follows Fox and his animal friends seeking refuge as Man invades their forest.

Many of the death scenes are cut out, possibly to make it more child friendly, but some of the other death scenes, such as the deaths of The Pheasants, remained intact.

The Animals of Farthing Wood is a British animated series commissioned by the European Broadcasting Union between 1993 and 1995, and is based on the series of books written by English author Colin Dann.

Led by Fox, and guided by Toad, the animals left Farthing Wood on a journey to White Deer Park, a nature reserve where they would be protected.
