Johanna is travelling by stagecoach when one of its occupants, Major Korfes, is arrested by the French militia. Before capture, he gives Johanna a mysterious letter. To solve the mystery, she joins the German corps as the “Black Hunter”.
In the year 1809, the young Johanna Luerssen travels to Braunschweig by stagecoach. Traveling companion includes Major Georg Ludwig Korfes who, just before his arrest by Napoleon's troops, passes an important letter to her, a letter that should not fall into the wrong hands.
